The weekend between the 29th and the 31st July 2016 saw the annual Malta eSports Festival take place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, and EVERSIO was present to compete in the Overwatch Masters tournament. The GO Malta eSports Festival 2016, organised by Gamers.com.mt, has become the premier and most anticipated eSports event of the year, with the calibre and popularity of the event improving with every iteration. This year, the event included tournaments for League of Legends, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, FIFA 16, Hearthstone, Rocket League, and the latest eSport sensation, Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch.

EVERSIO's representatives was mainly composed of veterans from past eSports titles popular in Malta, Call of Duty and Counter-Strike. Matli and PK, in particular, have been mainstays in EVERSIO's squads for the past seven years, and are now proving their worth on a new battlefield. The full roster is the following:

 Clinton 'Cincin" Caruana (Support)
Gary "r1k" Vella (Support / DPS)
 Marco "PK" Bugeja (DPS)
Matthew "Matli" Bajada (Ingame Leader / DPS)
Scott "Scott" Vella (Support / Tank)
 Wayne "Reed" Reed (Tank)

EVERSIO went into the six team round-robin, defeating Team Phhh, Affinity, UnderWatch and DeathWatch, whilst losing to Paradigm6. The team placed second in the group, having won eight maps and lost three. EVERSIO faced Team Phhh once again in the semi-final, and came out victorious after a close series. The grand final of the tournament for a grand prize of €1,000 was played against Paradigm6, who defeated EVERSIO in a Best of 5 match, taking three maps to EVERSIO's one.

EVERSIO placed an overall second in the first local offline event for Overwatch, and we look forward to compete in the next challenge.
