We are launching a series of interviews to allow our followers to get to know our players better, with questions ranging from the personal, to eSports itself. We're starting off with Clinton "Cin" Caruana, the team leader of our Overwatch squad, and an Ana/Lucio player. Cin was one of the founding members of our Overwatch team, and he has been with us for the past eight months.

My name is Clinton Caruana, I live in Gzira, and I'm 24 years old (03/09/1992).
What do you do in real life? What is there to know about real life Cin?
Aside from gaming, which plays a huge part of my life; I have a girlfriend who is pregnant therefore I will soon become a father. I enjoy going out and meeting my friends who I have known for many years and I am known for my sense of humour and always putting a smile on people's faces. When it comes to my working life I am currently running my father's factory, Maxims.
When did you start playing video-games?
Since the first time I laid hands on a video game I have been hooked on playing; I started by playing console games at the very beginning, after which, at the age of 10,I began my journey of playing computer games and have not touched a console since.
What are your favourite video-games from your childhood, your favourite single-player experience, and your favourite multiplayer experience?
When I was a child I remember being obsessed on Tekken and Hercules; I also played Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon (all time classics!).
My favourite single-player experience by far was Dynasty Warriors and I have all the collections from Dynasty Warrios 1 to 7.
Without a doubt my all time favourite multiplayer experience has to be World of Warcraft!
How did you get into competitive gaming? What games have you played competitively?
I started playing WOW for fun with my friends however shortly after realised that I have a lot of potential and moved onto playing with a different teams from all across europe which resulted in me being in the top 3 PVP guilds in Europe and being ranked one of the best Warlocks for 2 consecutive competitive seasons.
Where do I start? Initially I played WOW, then I moved onto League of Legends, Diablo 3 and now focusing full-time on Overwatch.
Any professional eSport athlete or team that you look up to?
I look up to Ryujehong (Lunatic-Hai, Overwatch) as he is also a support player and I enjoy learning hint and tips from him and being able to relate as well.
In terms of team, I look up to Misfits as they pull out comps which are not in meta and are also very versatile which brings them the win in various events.
You came from competitive League of Legends; what was your playstyle and who were your favourite champions in the game?
I had various roles whilst playing LoL, I shuffled around during competitive seasons between middle, top and jungle depending on the team's needs.
Whilst playing LoL I was known for playing champions which were not in meta, for example Heimerdinger in top lane which surprised a lot of opposing teams in competitions.
Which teams did you play for in LoL? Any particular teammates that you'd like to highlight?
I played for Ephica for 2 seasons wherein my team mates were also Scott, Deathrow and Reed.
What's your competitive record in LoL? What was your highest rank, and what tournaments did you participate in, local and international?
I was ranked as Platinum for 2 competitive seasons; my highest rank was Platinum 1 and we participated in 2 local events which were organised by Gamers.com.mt.
When did you first hear of Project EVERSIO? What was your impression?
I first heard of Project EVERSIO many years ago when I used to spectate at LANs watching Call of Duty whereby Eversio were one of the best teams in Malta.
I was very impressed by the team's skills and it has always been my wish to be a part of this team; which now has not only materialised but I lead this team!
You're now in-game leader for the EVERSIO Overwatch team. What are the skills required for an in-game leader, and how did you come about to be so?
Being an in-game leader it is vital to have discipline to ensure the team deliver, have composure so as not to crack under pressure, motivate the team regardless of the situation and also be vocal. I have gained these skills through my years of experience leading other teams including my work staff and also by watching some of the best teams in Europe play and always looking for opportunities to improve and be better.
You mainly play support heroes. Ana and Lucio in particular. What draws you to this playstyle?
The main reason I am drawn to this playstyle as playing support heroes is because I have the opportunity to be strategic and tactical, these are my strengths, therefore allowing my team to create important plays in the game.
How was your current team formed back in Summer 2016, and who was the driver behind it? How would you describe the players on your team?
When the games was initially launched as beta, we used to be around 12 players on TeamSpeak and used to enjoy playing the game after which the top players got together, realised we had a lot of synergy and decided to form a team. We were all drivers behind this conjunction.
The players on my team all have a different playstyle and character, they have their strengths and weaknesses which compliment each other. We are really good friends and love to hang out when we have a chance; there has not been a day since that we have not spoken.
You've qualified for the offline portion of the MRO Overwatch Open which will be held towards the end of March. You've defeated everyone in the round robin stage, except for Paradigm6. How do you think you'll do in the tournament?
We are doing very well and as a team, losing only makes us work harder and get better. I am very confident in the capability of myself as well as my team; our goal is to win the tournament and we are doing everything in our power to achieve this.
How does it feel to play competitive video-games on stage?
It feels amazing, I truly enjoy being up there as this is my dream.
It's your third event with EVERSIO. How has the team grown since you first started playing together?
The team has become more unified and communication has massively improved; we have genuine teamwork and believe in each other; currently we have the best line up to date.
What's next after March for the Overwatch squad?
Our aim is to continue getting better and better and stick together as one team; after March we will participate in Online Cups.
What do you think of the Maltese Overwatch community?
I think there is a lot of room for improvement; Malta is a small island which causes a lot of rivalry between teams however on a positive note, it has grown drastically and the future looks bright.
What do you think about the Bastion re-work, and the new hero, Orisa?
Personally I think that it is the worst rework ever and I am not the only one; Bastion is very OP and needs to be nerfed ASAP.
On the other hand Orisa will completely change the playstyle of the game which is something we are all looking forward to.
Any shoutouts?
I would like to shoutout to my teammates; thank you for all the hardworking and efforts; let's do this!
A huge thank you to Gamers.com.mt for organising these local events and giving local gamers the opportunity to shine and taking ESports to a whole other level.
And finally I would like to thank our management team, Matthew Barbara and Michele Magro for their constant support and believing in us.
