Slated to be the spiritual successor to competitive Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4, Battalion 1944 was just released for Early Access on the 1st of Februray 2018. With the strength of the legacy of the old competitive Call of Duty titles, the game is being seen as a prompt for the revival of the local scene, as well as the international scene, with many of the legendary names from ten years ago voicing their support for the title.

Call of Duty 2 was the first competitive title for EVERSIO, whilst Call of Duty 4 is what made us the best in Malta, and made us somewhat well known (or some might same, infamous) in the European scene. This legacy means we just had to have a presence in the game.

Two players from our PUBG squad,  Marco "PK" Bugeja, and  Wayne "Reed" Reed will be switching over to Battalion 1944, and they will be joined by two alumni from our former Overwatch roster, the two brothers,  Scott "Sco_Oq" Vella, and  Gary "R1k" Vella. The fifth spot in the squad will be filled by none other than  Clint "Ascolese" Ascolese.

Ascolese, formerly known by his handle "GAS", was a member of our Call of Duty 4 squad for a number of months in its twilight, back in 2009 and 2010. Ascolese represented EVERSIO during WebLAN.BlackWidow, an offline event in September 2009 wherein the squad placed first, and walked off with an €800 prizepot, as well as in Hackers LAN 2010, held in June 2010, where EVERSIO also placed first and won €750. Clint is a very well known character in the local scene, partly because of his 'life of the party' nature, and his proficiency in puncraft, but also because of his gaming pedigree. He has been around the scene for a very long time, having played a number of titles competitively including Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, Counter-Strike, and most recently, PUBG.

Unfortunately, this also spells the short but decorated story of EVERSIO.PUBG.  Clinton "Cin" Caruana and  Daniel "Deathrow" Gatt will still be part of the EVERSIO family, but will not be actively competing in game titles. Daniel has also taken a very active role in the management of the organisation.

Our new squad has already started practicing, and they look forward to participate in a number of local events, as well as any online European cups. Starting off, the team will be participating in the following competitions:

• Gamers.com.mt The MRO Battalion 1944: Open - Starting on the 19th March
• Quickfire NOVA Series #2 - Starting on the 6th April
