Our new Battalion 1944 squad is now officially signed up to the organisation's first major event of the year: The MRO Battalion 1944: Open. The MRO - the Malta Robotics Olympiad, is a yearly technology event, organised by the Minsitry for Education and Employment of the Government of Malta, and has very quickly become th ebeiggest technology event in Malta, featuring everything from a design and technology Expo, a robot building competition, a JAVA Hackathon, as well a JNR LEGO League for children. As with last year, and to our delight, it will also feature an esports championship!

Last year, Project EVERSIO's Overwatch team participated in the MRO's first esports event, and this time we're back with a different game, but with familiar faces nonetheless. Battalion 1944 seems to have become a popular game amongst Maltese esports enthusiasts, and it will be the first real challenge for our new squad. 

We've officially signed-up to the event, and will participate with the following lineup:

The online portion of the event, the qualifiers, will start on the 19th of March, and if we qualify through, the main offline event will take place between the 20th and the 22nd April at Malta's largest international conference and exhibition venue - the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta' Qali, Attard.

The prizepool varies according to the number of signups, with €1,000 for 8 teams, €1,500 for 12 teams, of a cool €2000 for 16 teams.
